Briefing 1.00pm for 1.30pm start.

The forecast is for a clear day and nice SSW wind 12-15 knots. A perfect day to break out the wetty and get on the water.

Yardstick event, all classes welcome, visitors encouraged. $5 per day or $15 for the series. Multiple short races.

Sausage sandwiches and drinks available on the day.

Three divisions:

Small Open: Sabot, Optimist, Flying 11, Heron and Access and any boat with a Yardstick over 127.

Large Open: All monohulls, except those in the Classic Division, with a Yardstick of 127 or less

Sailboard: All sailboard classes

Heron Travellors Trophy Final Race at DAC

The Final race of the Herons Association Travellers Trophy was held at Dobroyd on

Saturday April 5th. Final placings were calculated by the race secretary Greg Harris

and trophies presented straight after the event.

The Juniors TT was also held at 1130 am in a very light and challenging 5 knots southwester. Emma Harris ran away with it in the fluky conditions and finished well ahead in the fleet.

Emma’s win only cemented a strong lead [...]

NSW Heron Junior State Titles

Congratulations to Jaime Swavley who has 1st in the Junior/ Senior
Heron State Titles, in a close fought battle with Emma Harris (NLSC)
who took 2nd. And well done to Jack Garner(DAC) who finished 3rd.

Windsurfer One Design State Titles 2008 Wrap

Despite awful weather (rain flooding streets for most of the time, 0-6 knots of wind, lightning, etc) we had a great roll up of 39 sailors for the Windsurfer One Design and Junior One states at Dobroyd on Saturday 2nd February and Narrabeen Lakes on the Sunday. The sailors ranged from ex-Olympians to 8 year olds, and about one third of them were 15 or under.

People turned up from Melbourne and Canberra and there was a good bunch from Newcastle/Lake Macquarie. Only the Wollongong a [...]

172nd Australia Day Sabot Regatta

The Australia Day Regatta is the oldest continuously held annual
sailing regatta in the world, sailed on Sydney Harbour to commemorate
the anniversary of the first European settlement in Australia.

First held in 1837, only 49 years after the First Fleet sailed into
Port Jackson and raised the Union Jack on the shores of Farm Cove, the
regatta has become the focal point of Australia Day celebrations in
Sydney.
