"Freedom on the water, regardless of ability"

sailablilpagepic.jpg

Sailability Dobroyd was established in 1996 as the first of the current 22 Sailability Branches in NSW. We sail the special purpose Access 2.3 and 303 dinghies, every second Sunday*, and cater for people of all abilities in a friendly and caring atmosphere. The Access dinghies are especially suited to people with a very wide range of disabilities, and we claim to have enabled the first ventilated quadriplegic solo sailor in the world.

Facilities include a wheelchair accessible pontoon with a hoist for lifting disabled people into the dinghies. Our sailing program ranges from recreational sailing, learning to crew, skipper and racing, We hosted the Access Dinghy State Championships in November 2003. Come along and see for yourself and maybe you will then want to have a trial sail, after which we guarantee you will be hooked!

We can be found at the Dobroyd Aquatic Club, Rodd Point, Five Dock (off Henley Marine Drive).

The annual membership fee is just $30 or if you just want to sail occasionally it is $5 each sailing day. This covers you for insurance and for the use of our boats.
Alternatively, perhaps you would like to offer your services as a volunteer?
